CCfD is aimed at couples where one, or both people are experiencing low mood that indicates depression. CCfD aims to explore how depression affects both people in the relationship, how couples can change the way they communicate with and behave towards each other so that both people in the relationship can cope better with the depression and offer each other more support.
IPT is a structured treatment for moderate to severe depression. It aims to help reduce the symptoms of depression by focussing on and addressing relationship difficulties. These can include: disputes or disagreements in relationships that trigger symptoms of depression; life changes that impact your mood, such as becoming a parent or losing a job; major loss or bereavement that may cause you to feel stuck in depression; difficulty starting or maintaining satisfying relationships.
Many people have experienced a traumatic event in their lives that is impacting on their current mood. Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is therapy specifically aimed at treating post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). EMDR focuses on trying to reduce the emotional distress caused by the traumatic event by working to change the way the brain processes information, so that you no longer relive the images, sounds and feelings when the event is brought to mind.
